I have been in this field for 30 years and I am still amazed at the number of weak resumes I see. Over 90% of our clients create resumes that look like a job description vs a marketing piece. This doesn't surprise me since job seekers don't specialize in resume writing. A resume has to be a marketing piece where ordinary language is converted into statements that reflect the value that you can bring to an employer. For example, a teacher's resume can state: "develop lesson plans", or it can state "develop innovative lesson plans to encourage creativity and critical thinking". A network engineer's resume can state: "install complete network infrastructure", or it can state "align new network infrastructure with the strategic objectives of valued clients resulting in long term loyalty". Every resume bullet point should convey a message to a hiring manager that your performance is far above ordinary or routine. To obtain a powerful resume, give us a call!
