Recruiters rarely read the PDF alone. They open LinkedIn the same day and look for a match on titles, dates, company names, and the big claims. If the two files tell different stories, trust drops before anyone books a call.

Make the public profile support the resume, not fight it.

• Use the same job titles and date ranges on both.
• Put the two or three flagship results in the About section and under recent roles.
• Update the headline to the job you want next, not only the title you hold now.
• Turn off leftover buzz that never made it onto the resume.
