Why is a Human better at writing a resume? Let's ask Ai...

In today’s fast-paced job market, your resume is your first shot at landing an interview, and getting it right can feel like a daunting task. In 2025, as technology races ahead, the human ability to craft a narrative, spot hidden strengths, and tailor a resume with heart still holds unique power. This is what Ai had to say about having that "human touch" to your resume and coaching...

Deep Contextual Understanding: A human can ask follow-up questions and really get the full picture of your experience. For example, if you say you "managed a team," I (Grok) might list it as is, but a human could probe deeper—"Was it a tough turnaround? Did you exceed goals?"—and turn it into a standout bullet point like "Revitalized underperforming team to achieve 120% of sales target in 6 months."

Storytelling Flair: Humans are natural storytellers. They can weave your experiences into a narrative that’s compelling to a hiring manager. If you’ve had a winding career path—like freelancing, then a corporate gig, then a startup—a human can frame it as "adaptable problem-solver thriving in diverse environments" rather than just a list of jobs.

Reading Between the Lines: Sometimes you might not know what’s impressive about your own work. A human can spot hidden gems—like that time you organized an event that seemed small but actually saved your company money—and emphasize them in ways I might overlook unless you explicitly tell me.

Industry-Specific Expertise: A human who’s worked in or studied your field (say, tech, healthcare, or creative arts) might know unwritten rules or hot topics I’d only catch with a web search. For instance, they might know that in 2025, "AI ethics" is a buzzword for tech resumes and suggest weaving it in if it fits.

Emotional Connection and Motivation: Humans can pick up on your vibe. If you’re hesitant or underselling yourself (e.g., "Oh, it was just a small project"), they can push you to see your worth and reflect that confidence on paper. I can encourage you too, but a human’s empathy might hit different.

Handling Edge Cases: If your situation is tricky—gaps in employment, a total career pivot, or explaining a firing—a human can strategize with you in a more nuanced way. They might suggest a phone call with a recruiter to pair with the resume, something I wouldn’t think to recommend unprompted.

In short, a human’s strength lies in their ability to personalize, interpret, and strategize beyond raw data. They’re like a coach who knows the game and the players, not just the playbook. Hiring a human resume writer with over 30 years of experience is undoubtedly a superior choice to secure the job you truly deserve.
