Should my resume be just 1 page?

I must confess that when people tell me that they read somewhere that a resume should be 1 page, it drives me nuts.  First of all, most resumes are scanned through an ATS tracking system for keywords, and the system can't distinguish 1 page from 2 pages. Second, The shorter the resume, the fewer keywords you can add and the lower your ATS tracking rate. Third, as a general rule, if you have 10 years of experience or less, or spent the majority of your career at a professional vs managerial level, one page should suffice. Fourth, over 10 years of experience and in managerial and/or executive positions must be a 2-page resume. There is no way a senior-level person can capture all of their marketable skills on 1 page. fifth, please do not do what I have seen far too many times, and that's a senior person trying to squeeze everything on 1 page using an 8pt font size that you need a magnifying glass to read. Stop listening to the opinions of people who have no idea what works or doesn't work.
