Yes, there is indeed a growing trend among employers to focus more on character and values when hiring, as opposed to solely relying on experience and skills. This shift recognizes that while skills are essential, the character traits of employees can significantly impact the workplace environment and the overall success of the organization.
Research and industry insights suggest that many companies are increasingly valuing soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and adaptability, which are often closely tied to a person's character. These traits are sometimes more challenging to develop than technical skills, which can be taught more systematically. Employers are finding that candidates with strong character traits such as integrity, accountability, and empathy are more likely to enhance workplace culture and drive long-term success (HRMorning) (BOSS Magazine). 

Furthermore, a focus on character can lead to a more diverse and inclusive workplace.
